What To Do When Your Cellphone Falls in Water

We found this interesting remedy on Yahoo! Answers to help you remove the moisture from your cell phone, if it falls in water. Mind you, we have not tested it but, what have you got to lose?
It’s recommended that you remove the battery immediately and place the cell phone in a bag of rice. Don’t try to power off the phone to test it to see if it’s working. If the battery is left in while you’re doing that, it may short out the phone. Once that phone is in a bag of rice, place it on top of something warm like your TV for 2 – 3 days. One thing that Yahoo! Answers didn’t suggest is replacing the old battery with a new one. We recommend trying that before turning the phone on. Perhaps, your local mobile phone retailer will test the phone for you. Good Luck!
